THE CHARACTER
FULL NAME: Barbara Gordon
SERIES/FANDOM: DC Comics
AGE: Late 20s ish. Maybe 30.
GENDER: Female
SPECIES: Human
SEXUALITY: Heterosexual
ALIGNMENT: Good
PERSONALITY: Barbara was raised with a heavy sense of justice, thanks to her father. For the most part, she has a distinct line between right and wrong. The bad guys should be put in jail. The end. Though she's a vigilante, she has the interest of the law in mind as well. She gets that from her father as well. She just knows that sometimes the police have their hands tied, and getting the bad guys put into jail is the goal. How they get there in the end doesn't matter as much, so she kind of believes in the ends justifying the means. And for the most part, she believes that she's doing the right thing and making a difference in the world. The world isn't safe, and so she wants to make it safe.
She can be pretty stubborn, all things considered. But she has a good head on her shoulders when she's not being terribly reckless. Her reckless phase came full force when she was Batgirl, but she's toned down quite a bit. Barbara generally thinks about things logically, and tries not to let too many emotions get to her. Though there are times where she has difficulty dealing with her situation. These times were more frequent when she was first shot, but they've gotten much better. She's not perfect though, she has times where she gets frustrated and extremely angry about being in the chair. She does this in private though, and keeps all of that strictly to herself. Yelling at other people doesn't help anyone. All of her issues she works out by putting bad guys away and focusing on being Oracle.
There's a thick exterior around her that can be hard to get past, though she likes to think she's friendly enough. She always wanted to be a superhero though, from when she was quite young. In fact she's always been a bit obsessed about the whole thing. However if anyone would understand why she wanted to do what Batman did, it was Batman since he lost his parents the way she lost her father. For her it's much easier to have relationships through people on the internet. There aren't any wheelchairs there, and she's free to do as she likes. Barbara believes in working as a team and everyone getting along in the team, if she's on one. She tries to be a lot nicer than Batman, because well she knows that Bruce is generally a huge dick.
She misses being able to really fight, but she can defend herself. Barbara is far from helpless. She's determined and stubborn and doesn't give up without a fight. There isn't a lot of backing down for her, even if she knows that she's going to be beaten. If she gave up as much as she should, then she'd never get anywhere. There are a number of people she's equally fond of, but she doesn't let them get too close at first. Her secret identity is secret for a reason. One can never be too careful, though some would say she's a little too untrusting.
ABILITIES: Though Barbara is paralyzed, she can still kick some ass. She's very proficient in eskrima (stick fighting) and has quite a bit of upper arm strength. She's been taught several different types of martial arts, including boxing, dragon style kung fu and judo. Even though she's in the wheelchair, she still practices most of them, and was taught the kung fu personally by Richard Dragon, who was in a wheelchair himself. She has a photographic memory, and she's got genius-level intellect. It means she's totally smart, and picks up things easily just by seeing it. She's a damn good detective, and knows computers inside and out. Hacking is the main thing she's good at when it comes to computers.
WEAKNESSES: Barbara is paralyzed from the waist down thanks to a bullet in the spine from the Joker. Sadly this means she can't kick anyone in the balls, as much as she would like to. Plus she's human, so she's not got a longevity or anything.

WHY HAS YOUR CHARACTER CAUGHT THE EYE OF THE COLLECTOR?: Because she's Babs. She's smart, and a former Batgirl. Plus someone has to have wheelchair races with Charles.
